PreMO - Myopia Management Platform

The Challenge

This project was a partnership between scientists and optometrists from Ulster and Aston Universities. They identified a need to transform how we understand and anticipate myopia progression in children using up-to-date research.

The system needed to:

Transform complex research into accessible tools
Provide data-driven visualisations for axial length and refractive error
Enable Optometrists to explain progression to parents
Ensure full GDPR compliance for patient records
Generate straightforward risk scores and progression predictions

The Solution

We developed a comprehensive web application that serves as a powerful tool for myopia visualisation and education. The platform allows practitioners to effortlessly view, document, and export myopia reports, utilizing specific measurements to plot progression against population statistics.

Our development key features included:
