The Challenge

PreMO, an innovative optometric software platform, possessed a wealth of user and clinical data but lacked the tools to transform it into actionable business and scientific insights. The team needed a way to visualize real-time activity within the system, including user acquisition, active engagement, and specific optometric data points.

Without a centralized view, tracking growth and monitoring system usage was an analytical black box. The client had the raw data but no way to visualize it effectively.

The solution needed to:

Provide real-time visualization of key metrics like sign-ups and active users.
Transform raw database entries into meaningful business and scientific insights.
Securely share sensitive data with specific internal stakeholders.
Automate monthly reporting to reduce manual administrative work and keep the main team informed.

The Solution

We designed and implemented a robust data intelligence architecture using Google Cloud Platform. By establishing a data pipeline from the PreMO software database to a data warehouse, we enabled powerful, scalable analytics without impacting the performance of the production application.

Our key development features included:

Data Warehousing (BigQuery): Sunk all data from the software database into Google BigQuery to create a centralized, high-performance data warehouse.
Interactive Dashboards (Looker Studio): Created internally shareable dashboards that visualize users, sign-ups, and statistics with real-time graphs.
Automated Reporting: Configured automated monthly email reports delivered directly to key stakeholders.
Secure Access: Implemented secure sharing controls to ensure sensitive insights remained internal.
